NEW YORK, NY – June 7, 2019 – MPA–The Association of Magazine Media announced the release of its 2019 Magazine Media Factbook, the definitive source of magazine media research. Since 1985, MPA has been compiling and packaging the most compelling and comprehensive facts and figures around magazine media. Derived from third-party sources and MPA’s own research and data collection, the 2019 edition has over 100 pages of current and useful information that articulate how magazine media is unique and its effectiveness compared to other media.

The MPA Centennial Factbook is filled with evidence of the health and vitality of magazine media. For example, 191 new print magazine brands launched in 2018 with a frequency of quarterly or greater—a 46 percent increase over the year before. The total number of print consumer magazines grew to 7,218 in 2018.

This year’s edition features 11 new pages devoted to supporting magazine media’s power across various ad categories. Twenty-three research companies contributed independent research, statistics and hundreds of compelling facts, including:
